Crocs sells $1 billion worth of shoes in 2011

Crocs: $1 billion in sales

Either you love Crocs or you hate them. If you're among the hate-them crowd who never enjoyed the gimmicky trend, you probably think most others do, too. Sure, celebrities like Pete Wentz, Sacha Baron Cohen, Steven Tyler, Jennie Garth, and chef Mario Batali swear by Crocs, and they're great for gardening and comfy for kids. But in the fashion world, there's almost no bigger "fashion don't" than the brightly colored perforated plastic footwear.  (And that's not even including the ones covered in silly Jibbitz charms). But sometimes function comes before fashion.

Clearly there are hoards of Crocs devotees because the Telegraph is reporting that the Colorado shoe company's yearly revenue surpassed $1 billion for the first time ever in its 10-year history. According to Women's Wear Daily, investors snapped up stock in the company yesterday when they heard this news, causing shares to rise 6.3 percent.

While we're quick to write off the bright plastic clogs, Crocs does have many other styles drawing in shoppers. We've rounded up some of the best and worst designs that may have contributed to their billion-dollar sales. Are you still wearing Crocs, or do you think they're hideous? Let us know in the comments.
