Who Wore it Better: Zoe Saldana or Heidi Klum?

If you are going to do a "who wore it better" piece can the pictures have the same lighting and quality? Just based on the pic, I'm leaning towards Zoe just b/c it's more flattering with the lighting and backdrop and then I wonder did I choose her b/c she looks better or is it she just had better lighting, angle, ect. and it show-cased what she is wearing better? Just a thought. Still, I think Zoe rocks the red jumpsuit better but then I'm sure you wanted me to lean that way anyhow on how you presented your article! PS. a red jumpsuit, if you have the figure and height, looks good either way with gold bangles and red blazer or nude heels and matching red belt. Depends on if you want to go more flirty or more modest!

6 Fashion Lifesavers Under $20

With award season in full swing, stylists are pulling out all the stops to make sure their celebs look flawless on the red carpet.

Extra-seamless panties, wig tape, and fishing line; these are just a few of the crazy things that keep celebs looking picture-perfect. After all, how did you expect a dress like this to stay on? (Click here for other red carpet secrets.)

But we all know wardrobe malfunctions happen off the red carpet too -- just check out these hilarious stories from our readers. Of course, when we have a nip slip, there's no stylist on hand to fix it. That's why we put together this bag of fashion gadgets to survive whatever comes our way. You can keep all of these in your purse or car (and they're all way cheaper than having Rachel Zoe on retainer).

Problem: A button popped off your shirt
Solution: Hollywood Fashion Tape, $8.99

Keep your cleavage under control with these double-sided tape tabs. Just stick it on your blouse where the button used to be and press the fabric together.Problem: You spilled coffee on yourself … again
Solution: Tide To-Go Pen, $2.94

Don't let a spill ruin your morning. This little pen will save you from a day of embarrassment, not to mention a trip to the dry cleaners. Just use it on the stain before it fully dries.Problem: The hem of your pants is dragging on the ground
Solution: Hollywood Temporary Hem Tape, $7.99

If you don't have a sewing kit around and can't make it to the tailor in time, this adhesive hem tape is a quick fix. Apply it to the inside of your hem and fold the pants in place where the original hem crease was.Problem: Your heels keep popping out of your shoes
Solution: Airplus Hug My Heels, $3.89

You knew you should have bought a half size smaller, but it's too late for that now. In the meantime, these heel inserts will keep your feet from slipping out. Stick them in the back of your shoes and walk on worry-free.Problem: You have a bright white deodorant mark on your little black dress
Solution: Skid Out Garment Guard, $4.95

It happens to the best of us. Instead of freaking out when you find that white streak on dress (or desperately splashing water on it), use these pads, Simply rub on the mark, and no more skunk look.Problem: Your pants got wrinkled on the drive to work
Solution: My Little Steamer Go Mini Hand Steamer, $19.99

Linen isn't the easiest to keep wrinkle-free, and sitting in traffic for an hour can make your pants look like an accordion. Keep this steamer at your desk to get rid of any wrinkles before your co-workers show up.

Now tell us: What's YOUR fashion lifesaver? Share your secret in the comments section below.

7 Secret Spots to Score Cute (and Affordable) Gym Clothes

By Charlotte Andersen

If you're tired of spending a fortune on workout clothes just to look like everyone else, try these seven little-known hot spots:

E-bay and Craigslist offer some surprisingly good choices.

E-bay and Craigslist offer some surprisingly good choices.

1. E-bay and Craigslist: When nothing but the super expensive stuff will do (and hey, I'm not judging! I once had to have a running skirt that cost more than a week's worth of groceries), go to Ebay.com and Craigslist.org first. Often you can find Lucy, Lululemon, Nike, and Athleta stuff brand new with the tags still on for less than half of what you'd pay at the store. Even the "slightly used" items are usually in very good condition.

Athleta

Athleta

2. Athleta clearance sales: I get so excited every time the Athleta catalog shows up at my house. Unfortunately their stuff, while excellent quality, is usually out of my price range. But keep an eye on their clearance and you can find some great deals.
Dancewear solutions

Dancewear solutions

3. Dancewear solutions: Want something fun and unique that no one else in your gym will be wearing? Dancewear Solutions may say it's for dancers, but their active wear works just as well for lifting weights or kickboxing as it does for plies and split jumps. While the quality isn't as high as, say, Lululemon, the fit is great and their clearance section can't be beat. Plus, at just $3 -$25 a piece you don't have to feel bad about getting rid of them when you can't get the gym funk to wash out.
Planet Gear

Planet Gear

4. Planet gear: Like Gilt.com but for fitness die-hards, PlanetGear.com has a new sale every day featuring your favorite fitness brands for a fraction of the price. And because they feature everything from ski goggles to water bottles to running shoes, you're not just limited to clothes. The only downside is that like any deal site, once the items are gone, they're gone! Registration is required but free.
Old Navy

Old Navy

5. Old Navy: Don't discount this chain store-when it comes to workout gear, their stuff is solid. While you probably won't be the only the girl wearing that cute floral top, Old Navy makes up for it with cheap (but still decent quality) staples like yoga pants, compression tights, and sports bras. And they have one of the largest selections of plus-size workout clothing.
J.C. Penney

J.C. Penney

6. J.C. Penney: Not just for grandmas looking for their next Christmas sweater anymore! I recently wandered in on a whim and was amazed by how diverse and, yes, stylish their Xersion line of workout gear is. With new stock arriving every other month or so, there's plenty of variety, and the older stuff goes to clearance quickly-you can pick up a sweat-wicking top for as little as $6. Even better, the quality is great. I've been wearing them for years now and my J.C. Penney running capris have outlasted my much pricier pair from a very popular brand.

7. DIY: Did you know there are more than 100 ways to cut up an old t-shirt? You can make a halter top or a funky tank or even yoga pants in just a few minutes. You can follow an online tutorial or just let your creativity run wild. And no worries for you non-crafty types, very little sewing is required. Just be careful to do a test run in your shirt at home so it won't accidentally come apart at the gym (like it did for me-thank heavens for sports bras). Bonus: This one is completely free!

Michelle Obama Wears Barbara Tfank Dress for State of the Union

Michelle Obama wore a blue Barbara Tfank dress to the State of the Union address.

Last night first lady Michelle Obama wore a a shiny, sapphire blue dress by Los Angeles-based designer Barbara Tfank for the State of the Union address. The silk twill sheath dress features cap sleeves and a criss cross bodice Obama accessorized with a pin by Alexis Bittar. The silhouette was chic and the bold, Democratic blue shade certainly made a statement in a room full of black suits and navy blazers.

Michelle Obama wore another Tfank dress to meet Duchess Catherine at Buckingham Palac …

Obama has worn Tfank's designs several times before, including a sky blue, belted, floral-print dress she donned last May when she visited Queen Elizabeth and met Duchess Catherine at Buckingham Palace. FLOTUS wore the 1950s-style dress from Tfank's 2011 resort collection with a cropped pink jacket as she was introduced to the fellow style icon. Obama also wore a green printed Tfank dress with pink pumps and a pearl necklace to an award ceremony for Chief Master Sergeant Richard L. Etchberger, of the US Air Force in the fall of 2010.

The first lady will make "Tonight Show" appearance later this month

Barbara Tfank started her career as a costume designer, and she made her mark while working as Prada's design consultant when she dressed Uma Thurman in the Italian label for the 1995 Oscars. No one had really heard about red carpet stylists until that point, and the lavender gown put Prada on the map. Tfank launched her eponymous label at Barneys New York in 2001 and recently dressed Adele in a black scallop edge custom dress to last year's MTV Video Music Awards. Her spring 2012 collection was inspired by some of Elizabeth Taylor's most iconic on-screen looks.

Last year, Obama wore a basic white 3/4 sleeve frock by Rachel Roy to the State of the Union. Just as Rachel Roy, Jason Wu, Thakoon, and other first lady favorites have become household names, we can now expect Barbara Tfank to get a lot more attention.

We first saw lace making a comeback about a season ago, it's still here and we're oh so glad! There's nothing like a bit of lace to soften up an outfit, like the way Vanessa Hudgens wrapped a Ash and Dan (yes, we found it) lace scarf around a bulky sweater to make it sweet.

5 Ways to Update Your Look for Under $20

Update your look!

With daily responsibilities pulling us in myriad directions, it's easy to get into a style rut, returning again and again to the same old outfits. Fortunately, if you turn to any of the following five tips, it's just as easy to freshen up your style without spoiling your budget.

Shop Your Own Closet

When we get busy, we usually grab whatever is in the front of the closet and wear it in the same old ways. But, chances are you have a bunch of fabulous clothes hidden away and just waiting for you to pull them out and breathe new life into them! Take an afternoon and really see what you have. Go through everything in your closet-clothes, shoes, handbags, everything-if it doesn't fit anymore, if it's worn or pilled, or is now hopelessly out of style, it needs to go. Then have fun and experiment with what's left. Try on your fancy blouses with jeans, your tees with work skirts, blazers over tanks. Take your suits and turn them into separates. See how you like a belt cinching your waist over a sweater or a pair of brightly colored pumps with neutral outfits. Not everything is going to work, but you can probably create dozens of new ensembles with what you already have in your closet! Another way to get ideas: Grab a fashion magazine or browse style blogs to see how other women are layering items. Then try imitating their styles with your own clothes and accessories!

Opt for a New 'do
A new hairdo can do wonders for updating your look. But, if a pricey haircut is outside your budget, you can still change things up. If your hair is straight, curl it a few times a week; if it's curly, try straightening it now and again. If you always wear your hair down, try some updos. If you generally like your look, experiment with trendy hair accessories or a fun clip-in feather.

Get a Makeover
If you are tired of your everyday makeup look, head to your local mall for a free makeover. Nearly all cosmetics counters provide makeup applications free of charge with the hope you'll buy one or two items afterward. If you're unsure where to start, walk around the department looking for the artist who's wearing the best face and approach her. Tell her you're looking for something new and let her guide you. Be specific, though, because one woman's "neutral" can be another's "OMG too much!" Ensure you don't spend too much by pick up the least expensive items at the counter and look for duplicates of the others at your local drugstore. If you don't want to commit to the makeover, simply pick up a bright new lipstick or funky nail polish!

Commit to a Workout Routine
Regular exercise can change your look even before you shed a pound, thanks to the newfound confidence and healthy glow imparted when you break a sweat. Yes, finding time to work out regularly can be challenging. However, keeping yourself in shape is not only one of the most beneficial things you can do to stay looking fabulous, it's essential to your health! Look for gym memberships that are month-to-month with a minimal initiation fee or pick up a low-cost workout DVD you can train with for several months. Better yet, investigate your cable provider's free on-demand offerings!

Swap Your Unwanted Clothes
After you've shopped your closet, as suggested above, post your unwanted clothes and accessories on a fashion swap site like Swapstyle.com, Clothingswap.com, or Rehashclothes.com. Not only can you snag killer items free, you're doing a good deed by ensuring old clothes go to those who will appreciate them, not straight into a landfill!

Runway to Realway: Pajamas

From Runway to Realway: Pajamas

From Runway to Realway: Pajamas

From Runway to Realway: Pajamas by polyvore-editorial featuring a short sleeve pajamas

Think pajamas are better left for the bedroom? Think again! This season, pajamas have made a major appearance on runways. Designer Rachel Roy made fashion headlines when she wore silvery-blue pajamas on the red carpet at a movie premiere. But what designers and celebs can get away with wearing in their rarefied anything-goes milieu doesn't always translate to workaday reality. What's the best way to bring this super-comfy runway trend to the real way?

Just add slouchy silk shirts with notched collars and piping - the classic pajama look - to a pair of tailored trousers or tucked into a skirt for work, or over a pair of skinny jeans for a more casual look. You can even wear the shirt open, like a soft jacket, over a tee.

Would you wear pajamas outside the bedroom?

The World's Most Expensive Kid + Baby Clothes

Peruvian pom-pom hat

Peruvian pom-pom hat

It's fairly innocent looking, but this darling hat will set you back a whopping $106. If your kid is anything like mine, that $106 will be quickly thrown off the stroller, left at a playground, or covered in grape jelly within the day. And yet, you can't deny it, the desire to spoil our children and outfit them in the very best is a strong one. Hence, even in a recession, there exists a $106 dollar hat for your six-year-old.

Based off an informal poll of my Twitter followers, the consensus seems to be that $50 per item seems to be the very top of the baby wardrobe budget (for me, personally, I stop at the $40 mark). What about you? How much would you be willing to spend on a single item for the apple of your eye?

Check out a collection of the most exorbitantly priced baby clothes I could find on the web (and I'm sure I am missing some gems!). Give them a gander and let me know, how much would you spend on a single item for your baby's wardrobe?
